Born in 1977, I grew up as a child of the ’80s and a teen of the ’90s, deeply influenced by the vibrant creativity of those decades. My artistic streak emerged early; in fact, my mother still keeps the schematics I once sketched, when as a young child I seriously plotted to have a doctor turn me into a motorcycle—a testament to how much I loved Transformers and the incredible depths of a child’s imagination.
Having lived in both rural and metropolitan areas across the Southern United States, I’ve embraced the dynamic shifts in culture and technology. Working through the turn of the millennium and adapting to the ever-changing landscape of marketing, multimedia, development, and management has been a rewarding journey that shaped my career and worldview.
I vividly remember the tail end of the era when newspapers and over-the-air television held sway, marveling at weekly advertisements showcasing cutting-edge computers of the day. One moment that sticks with me is from my high school computer class—a class taught by the school librarian because computers weren’t really “a thing” yet. Holding up a single cable, he prophetically declared, ‘Someday, all our communications will come through one line into your house.’ Little did we know just how much that prediction would define the future we now live in.
Years
Experience
Time is key for gathering knowledge on how to implement a design. I have built a career with time-tested processes demonstrating success.
This is a shot of me while on location in Texas working with Chris Cox on his ranch in Mineral Wells, TX.
Where to start…
Lifelong passion
The Arts have been a guiding light for a major portion of my life. From childhood to the genesis of my career, I have held the desire to create deeply.
And how to grow…
Education
I consider myself a life-long student. As technology evolves and our methods of communication change, I desire to learn the new processes and procedures, along with how we as society seek to communicate.
When to expand…
Design
The spark of creativity can be found in almost any situation, in any corner of a thought. Creativity must have room to expand and never be confined in redundancy.
For the “Ah Ha” moments.
Sparks of Life
When the road ahead for any project is but a blank canvas, the motivation to explore new concepts is a major thrill! And when inspiration hits, when the “AH HA!” moment arrives, it is always an electrifying moment.
Oh yeah – I have some personal projects as well
When you have a passion, it does not conclude at the end of the work day. In my free time, I continue with numerous family-themed and pro-bono work as well! Here are a couple of examples. One is from my family show called “Lawsons on Purpose” – where we live life “on purpose”. This is a video series that is mainly created for my family as we grow together and live life with one another. The other video is a re-cap video from a camping trip for American Heritage Girls and Trail Life.
